Pura Vida! I'm Michiel Thomas, a Belgian native documentary filmmaker, video journalist, cameraman and video editor based in Los Angeles, California.

 

Since 2006, I've been working on a wide range of subject matter and for various clients in all parts of the world, such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, Peacock, PBS, AMC Networks and BBC News. I've also had the pleasure to collaborate with other tremendous documentarians, such as Zeb Newman and David Weissman.

 

My experiences have taken me from the snowcapped peaks of the Rocky Mountains, to the star-studded red carpets in Tinseltown; from chronicling the coming-out journey of the first ever transgender pro MMA fighter, to capturing LeBron James pouring champaign on his teammates after winning the NBA championship.

 

I am thankful for every opportunity to see the world as a complex and wondrous landscape of cultures, creatures and powerful geologic forces through the lens of my camera.
